BAPTISM
There is nothing special about the water...
Hear us out; it’s just water (with a bit of chlorine), but what makes it significant is what you’ve decided in your heart. Baptism is an essential step of obedience that shows others we have personally trusted Jesus for our salvation. When you take the plunge, you are submerged under water to identify with the death and burial of Jesus and raised out of the water to identify with His resurrection.
Water baptism is a public declaration of three important things: you are a follower of Jesus Christ, beginning a changed life in Christ, and part of a new family. You don’t need to be perfect; come as you are.
“Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life."- Romans 6:4

Baptism serves as a public display of your faith. This act openly affirms your dedication to following Christ, providing a tangible expression of the internal transformation that transpires when you accept Christ as your savior. It stands as the subsequent step after embracing salvation and is viewed as a fundamental element in the life of a believer. Furthermore, it represents an act of obedience to the guidance given by Jesus Himself. Even though Jesus was flawless and sinless, He humbly underwent baptism as an act of obedience, thereby setting an example for us to emulate.
“Then Jesus came close to them and said, “All the authority of the universe has been given to me. Now go in my authority and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. And teach them to faithfully follow all that I have commanded you. And never forget that I am with you every day, even to the completion of this age.” - Matthew 28:18-20

Baptism holds various symbolic representations. It serves as a visual portrayal of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, as well as your own transformation as a follower of Christ. When you descend beneath the water, it symbolizes leaving your old life behind. Upon resurfacing, you step into the new life that Christ has graciously bestowed upon you.
“Going under the water was a burial of your old life; coming up out of it was a resurrection, God raising you from the dead as he did Christ. When you were stuck in your old sin-dead life, you were incapable of responding to God. God brought you alive – right along with Christ! Think of it! All sins forgiven, the slate wiped clean, that old arrest warrant canceled and nailed to Christ’s cross.” - Colossians 2:12-14
